Abstract

A brow bar (12) and lens (14) assembly for eyeglasses (10) is provided wherein a flexible brow bar member (12) is attached to a lens assembly (14) only along a central region. By attaching the lens (14) and brow bar (12) in this manner, the brow bar (12) is allowed to flex relative to the lens (14) thereby providing additional means for adjusting the width of the eyeglasses (10) and increasing the comfort for the wearer. Further, the lens construction may include channels (34) along its top edge thereby creating voids that provide a space into which the two ends of the brow bar (12) can travel when deflected relative to the central region.
