17 giu 2021 · Dyckia is a genus in the Bromeliad Family, with the various species found east of the Andes in southern Brasil and southward into Uruguay and Argentina.
“Dyckia is one of the genera in the subfamily Pitcairnioideae. This subfamily contains some of the most primitive Bromeliad species.
Dyckia plants are not true succulents and do not store water. When they go through periods of little or no water, dyckias go dormant and eventually wilt.
This is a terrestrial bromeliad. It has stiff, arching thin ribbons of silver leaves, with touches of green and purple, that form an untidy 4” tall clump.
