Sicilian mafia boss
Salvatore Profeta died in a northern Italian hospital of a heart
attack on Tuesday night, sources said Wednesday.
Profeta, 73, was one of the top lieutenants of former kingpin
Stefano Bontade, murdered by future boss of bosses Totò Riina in
a war between Riina's Corleonesi and the 'losing mafia' in 1981.
He was three years into an eight year spell for mafia
association, robbery and extortion in Tolmezzo high-security
jail.
