AC Milan have announced on their website that the club have parted ways with the first team coach of Milan Women. Maurizio Ganz has been fired after a poor set of results and an overall bad start to the season which sees the side in 6th place after 8 matchdays.

The calls for his leave have been growing since former captain Valentina Giacinti and Spanish veteran Veronica Boquete highlighted issues with his management about two years ago. Both top class players would leave the squad as a result. The results have kept dropping since his debut season and the side sit in their lowest position since the inception of the team.

Ganz’s results stand as follows since he took the post in 2019: 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 3rd. He never managed to get the team into the Women’s Champions League. He lost the Coppa Italia final in 2021 as well as the Supercoppa in the same year.
