Sometimes it worried you how much Seeley worked, and it did worry you how dangerous his job could get but that was kind of in the job description.

You had gotten used to Seeley not always being home on time or when you had to go and pick up Parker because he was working but that didn’t mean you enjoyed the fact that he worked late.

And even when Seeley did get home early, he would often be up at the crack of dawn tapping away at his laptop or on the phone to Brennan about something or other that was going on.

So, you weren’t exactly surprised when you woke up around 3am to no Seeley next to you and the tapping of fingers against a keyboard coming from the living room.

Sighing you climbed out of bed and made your way out to where Seeley was.

“Yes Bones, I know you thought that but I’m telling you it can’t be and calling me at this time really isn’t the best idea,” you heard him talking on the phone as you walked in.

Seeley turned around and saw you, sighing when he realised that he’d probably woken you up.

“Bones, I gotta go, Y/N is up but we’ll talk later.”

You sat down next to him on the sofa as he hung up his phone. “Honestly if I didn’t know any better, I’d feel like I should be worried.”

He laughed, moving his laptop to the coffee table and pulling you into his side. “Me and Bones?”

“If any other girl woke up to her boyfriend on the phone to a woman at ungodly hours of the day, they would be worried,” you stated with a shrug.

He chuckled but pulled you closer, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Ah you know Bones, once something is in her head, she needs to tell me.”

“It’s bad that I’m used to you never staying a full night in bed,” you mused as you cuddled up to him.

Seeley sighed and you knew he felt bad for his habits. “I’m sorry baby, really, I just can’t help it.”

You nodded in acknowledgement – having already understood what his job was before getting into a relationship with him all those years ago.

“But I wasn’t looking at a case this morning,” he told you as he reached for his laptop. “It’s true that Bones woke me up, but I was looking at this whilst she talked my ear off.”

He put his laptop on top of your knees, and you couldn’t help but smile at what was facing you. “A house? You’re looking at getting us a house?”

A smirk crossed his face as he tried to be nonchalant. “Well, you know, I thought it might be time to get a bigger place,” he stated but he sounded nervous. “You know, a place with a bedroom for Parker and enough space for any siblings he…uh…might get.”

“Siblings huh?”

“I’d quite like to see a little you running around,” he confirmed, stroking your hair as he looked at you. “And there’s no one else I’d rather house hunt with.”

You smiled, placing the laptop back on the coffee table and cuddling up to him. “I’d love for us to have a baby Seeley.”

“I’m glad you’re on board,” he joked. “Because I sort of already told Parker to expect a little brother or sister.”
