1983 Honda CX650 Turbo

This 1983 Honda CX650 Turbo is one of fewer than 1,200 said to have been imported to the US for the model year. It is finished in white with blue and red graphics and is powered by a turbocharged 674cc V-twin paired with a five-speed transmission. Equipment includes an enclosed driveshaft, a front fairing, a two-up seat, electronic fuel injection, ComStar aluminum wheels, and triple disc brakes, while modifications consist of a foam air filter, a YSS monoshock, and a Race Tech Gold Valve cartridge emulator kit and fork springs. The bike is said to have spent 30 years in storage before it was acquired by the seller in 2019, and recommissioning work included overhauling the petcock, brakes, flushing the fluids, servicing the injectors, and replacing the battery, fuel pump, air filter, tires, and water pump seals. This CX650 Turbo is now offered with an owner’s manual, a shop manual, a tool kit, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The CX650 Turbo was only produced for the 1983 model year, and this example is finished in white with blue and red graphics. Equipment includes a 5.3-gallon fuel tank, a two-up seat, and a passenger grab handle as well as a front fairing with a tinted windscreen, dual mirrors, and integrated turn signals. The seller notes an area of missing paint on the front fender and a chip on the tail section along with corrosion near the center stand mount.

ComStar “Boomerang” polished aluminum wheels measure 18″ front and 17″ rear and wear Metzeler Lasertec tires installed under current ownership. Stopping power is provided by dual disc brakes up front and a single disc brake out back. The seller states that the rear master cylinder was overhauled, the front master cylinder was replaced, and braided stainless-steel brake lines and stainless-steel plungers were installed under current ownership.

The air-adjustable TRAC anti-dive fork features powder-coated sliders, replacement bushings, and a Race Tech Gold Valve cartridge emulator kit and springs. A YSS Z-Series monoshock is mounted to the Pro-Link swingarm.

The fairing houses an instrument cluster that contains a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 9k-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level as well as a digital clock and bar-style boost gauge. The five-digit odometer shows just under 10k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were ridden by the seller.

The turbocharged 674cc V-twin features transversely oriented cylinders as well as electronic fuel injection and ignition. Factory-rated output was 100 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included installing a foam air filter, overhauling the petcock and water pump, changing the oil and coolant, having the injectors serviced, and replacing the fuel pump and the battery. The seller notes blemishes on the valve covers and states that the mufflers were powder-coated in black with silver Turbo script.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and an enclosed driveshaft.

An owner’s manual, a shop manual, and a tool kit are included in the sale.

A collection of spare parts and removed components will accompany the bike.
