This 1991 Mosler Consulier GTP is said to be one of approximately 83 examples produced between 1985 and 1996. Its composite body panels are finished in green over tan leather upholstery, and the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 15″ Cragar wheels, ventilated disc brakes, removable roof panels, a rear spoiler, power windows and locks, Recaro bucket seats, air conditioning, and a JVC CD stereo. This Series I Consulier was acquired by the seller in 2013 and is now offered at no reserve with a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.
The Consulier GTP was the first production car to feature all-composite construction without structural metal, with its monocoque tub and panels composed of carbon fiber, Kevlar, fiberglass, and closed-cell foam. This example is finished in green with a gold stripe separating the black lower bodywork. Further exterior details include removable roof panels, quadruple headlights, and a single polished exhaust outlet. The left mirror has been replaced, and the front bumper is said to have been repaired by the seller. Imperfections in the paint are noted across multiple body panels, additional photos of which are viewable in the image gallery below.
Cragar 15″ wheels are mounted with 205/50 Falken Ziex ZE912 tires. The car rides on a fully independent suspension, and replacement adjustable rear shocks are said to have been installed under current ownership. Stopping power is provided by ventilated four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin houses Recaro bucket seats upholstered in tan leather with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional appointments include power windows and locks, map pockets, a short-throw shifter, and a JVC CD stereo linked to a Boss amplifier mounted behind the driver’s seat. The air conditioning system is said to have been recharged in preparation for the sale. The seating surfaces are torn.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a replacement 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An aftermarket air-fuel ratio gauge has been installed. The digital odometer indicates 129 miles, and total mileage is unknown. The removed speedometer will accompany the sale.
The Chrysler-sourced turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter inline-four was factory-rated at 175 horsepower. Cooling is handled via radiators located in the rear spoiler, and the seller states that polyurethane motor mounts, a 3″ swing valve, a manual boost controller, and an aftermarket blowoff valve have been installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag 555 five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A 3″ exhaust system with a polished outlet has been installed, and additional underside images are presented in the gallery below.
