Travie McCoy just released a new single “Golden” with Sia, but according to the former Gym Class Heroes frontman, it’s only one of a few tracks the two worked on together.

“This was probably the third of about three or four that we’ve recorded together,” McCoy tells EW. “Who knows if the others will ever be heard, but they all mean so much to me. She actually wrote a song for me when I was going through some really hard times that I will always hold dear to my heart. She’s an angel with the voice of one.”

McCoy dropped the music video for “Golden” on Monday, and says to EW that when he first heard the song, he knew it “was going to be something special.”

Sia and McCoy met four years ago, and he said he’d been her fan for years. “When we finally [met] we were totally kindred spirits. We had both gone through a lot and she became a sister to me very quickly,” he tells EW.

McCoy’s first solo album Lazarus debuted in 2010, and now he said his next one is coming soon. “I think ‘Golden’ is a cog in the machine that is the next album. Every song has its own shape and sound in order to make the machine move and work the way I want it to.” Listen to “Golden” below.
