Prolific Italian songwriter Francesco De Gregori followed in the footsteps of Fabrizio De André, the godfather of political folk, to become a household name in his own right by the early ’70s. From this success, he’s become a songwriting gun for hire on many occasions. And he’s selected projects beautifully, getting credited by the likes of De André, rocker Ron and hypnotic pop hero Patty Pravo.
