Vintage Bakelite Beer Foam Scraper Holder RUPPERT Beer & Ale Bar Advertising
-veined butterscotch bakelite & purple plastic beer foam scrapper holder
-were commonly found in neighborhood pubs from late 30's-50's
-were kept next to the beer tap to hold scrapers
-skimmed across the foam of a newly drawn beer to prevent spillage
-usually given to the pubs by beer companies as promotional items
-this holder advertises RUPPERT Beer-ALE
-has a brass tone medallion which has unattached itself but could be re-glued by it's new owner
-embellished with 2 barrel-like rings in silver tone metal
-bakelite base is quite substantial & stands on 4 metal feet
-purple plastic cup is a lighter weight
-veining in the bakelite is purple as well
-underside of the cup is embossed " General Products Co. Prov. RI US patent #2162629"
-I could not find any info regarding this company
-designed to sit at an angle so the suds drain off the scraper
-my husband used it for years as a pen holder on his office desk

Condition: This is in good condition- no cracks or chips (the bright spots in the pics are secondary to glare). The RUPPERT medallion has patina, has come loose and will need to be reattached. The silver tone rings have tarnish. The cup has some superficial scratches.
