Clair Bidez was featured in the 2010 SI Swimsuit Issue when the athlete posed for photographer Warwick Saint in Whistler, Canada.

Bidez got her competitive start in snowboarding at the age of 10 and went on to place fifth at the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships six years later. The halfpipe specialist has also competed at the Winter X Games.

Olympic snowboarder Hannah Teter, freestyle skier Lacy Schnoor and skier Lindsey Vonn were all photographed in the same location as Bidez for their respective photo shoots ahead of the Vancouver Winter Games.

While Bidez was on track to qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympics the same year, an ankle injury kept her from competing and ultimately led to the Colorado native’s retirement.

After stepping away from her beloved sport, Bidez began to focus on her career outside of the world of athletics and winter sports. Today, the 35-year-old works as a research analyst. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Westminster College and later attended the University of Utah, where she completed her Master of Science degree in geography.

Below are five of our favorite images from Bidez’s photo shoot in Canada.
