Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are both on the hunt for long-term managers. However, admittedly, Bayern Munich are in a much greater rush than Real Madrid, given that Carlo Ancelotti still has some great years to offer. Bayern, on the other hand, must find a new head coach before the 2024/25 season.

According to Marca, Bayern Munich have contacted Zinedine Zidane in the hopes of gauging his interest in becoming their new head coach when Thomas Tuchel steps down at the end of the season. This comes just weeks after Zinedine Zidane admitted that he would like to re-enter management at some point. The report quotes Zindane as saying:

"Anything can happen, but at the moment I'm doing something else. I'm sure I'll return to the bench , I'd like to train again."

Needless to say, Zinedine Zidane is one of the greatest managers of the 21st century. Although he has not managed as many matches as other all-time greats, he has achieved great success in limited time. Of course, he is infamous for winning the Champions League three seasons in a row and two La Liga titles during his two Real Madrid stints.

As a player, Zidane is also recognised as one of the greatest midfielders of all-time. He won the World Cup, Serie A, La Liga and Champions League as a player, so he knows a thing or two about how to achieve success in this beautiful game.

There is a growing sense that Zizou has already achieved all there is to achieve at Real Madrid. While fans would welcome him back with open arms, it wouldn't be the worst feeling in the world if he signed on as the Bayern coach. After all, as mentioned, Florentino Perez values Xabi Alonso as the best long-term manager for Real Madrid.
