Real Madrid failed to make the most of their home advantage as they were only able to draw 3-3 against Manchester City. It could have so easily ended in defeat if not for Fede Valverde's wonderful strike. But overall, it is Carlo Ancelotti's side who have the taller mountain to climb in the second leg, when they will need to win away in England to go through to the semi-finals of the competition.

One player who they will need at his best in the second leg is Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian might not have earned a lot of plaudits for his performance against Manchester City but he was still instrumental, providing two assists.

As reported by Cadena SER, Ancelotti decided, in the 86th minute, to replace Vinicius. The Italian coach introduced Joselu onto the field, removing the Brazilian who did not seem to like the change.

It was not the only change that Ancelotti made on the day. Vinicius also saw his usual position occupied by Rodrygo. He was played more centrally.

While there has been a lot of talk around Jude Bellingham this season, Vinicius has quietly had an excellent campaign so far as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the Brazilian has scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 29 appearances.

Vinicius is also the kind of player who rises to the occasion. He scored the winner against Liverpool in the Champions League final a couple of years back. He also managed a hattrick against Barcelona this season.

So, do not be surprised if Vinicius has a good game away in Manchester as well. Of course, the entire team will have to step up if Ancelotti's side are to get a win against Pep Guardiola's side, who are the defending European champions but do seem a bit shakier this season.
