Frederic Bouraly

Frédéric Bouraly is a French actor most famous for playing the awkward José on the popular comedy series "Scènes de ménages." He began his professional acting career in the early '80s with roles in the television and stage adaptations of "Les deux orphelines," known in English as "Orphans of the Storm." But before seeking consistent work on screen, he acted solely in the theatre throughout the '80s with roles in classic plays such as Moliére's "Le Bourgeois gentilhomme" and Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar." Bouraly stretched his comedic talents even further in 1984 when he directed the vaudeville act "Les Deux Timides." In 2000, he broke into the film industry as Bobby in the romantic comedy "Happenstance," featuring "Amélie" star Audrey Tautou. Bouraly continued with small roles in mainstream comedies such as Elvis the bartender in "Ah! Si j'étais riche" before snagging one of the most significant roles of his career in the 2009 series "Scénes de ménages," a satire of married life. Bouraly plays José, a middle-aged mayoral assistant who, along with his wife, Liliane, rediscovers the joys of marriage after his son leaves home. In addition to his traditional acting roles, Bouraly has performed voiceover work, most notably as the maniacal Mr. Satan in the children's series "Dragon Ball Z."
