Sinead O'Connor continua ad avere un rapporto complicato con i social network. Di recente ha pubblicato su Twitter una serie di post nei quali ha tirato in ballo l'Islam, il terrorismo, Trump e il razzismo. Il più contestato spiegava così la sua conversione alla religione islamica (ha anche cambiato il suo nome in Shuhada): «Mi dispiace se quello che sto per dire è qualcosa di molto razzista, qualcosa che non ho mai pensato che la mia anima potesse mai sentire. Ma davvero: non ho più voglia di passare del tempo con persone bianche (se è così che vengono chiamati i non-musulmani). Nemmeno per un momento, per nessuna ragione. Sono disgustose».

Ne sono seguii altri in cui ha fatto sapere che il Signore «ha bisogno di qualcuno che faccia il lavoro sporco», che «i poveri americani non sono vittime di Trump ma lo hanno ingaggiato loro e devono licenziarlo». E ha aggiunto che «lo stesso discorso vale per il cosiddetto Terrorismo islamico, che è esattamente quello che il diavolo vuole e ama».
