I love tango dance and tango music, which is what initially drew me to this relatively new film. But the political history behind the story is what is so compelling. The events that occurred in Argentina and other South American countries in the mid 1970s through about 1980 are shocking and disturbing. It’s a story that most Americans are sadly unaware of, or I should say, ignorant about. Enjoy the great music and dance, and learn some history in the process. I wish there had been English subtitles for the English spoken, and not just for the Spanish. Sometimes the accents when English is spoken are still hard to decipher.

Sound track is excellent as are the footage of Argentina and milongas. There’s a lot of dancing which is great. The plot was weak and acting was amateurish. I couldn’t continue despite promising idea and a lot of tango to come.
