That was the question Julie asked when she came across her first Leonberger 25 years ago in the English countryside. She knew immediately that this was a very special breed.

Before long, Julie and her husband welcomed their first Leonberger, Kayla into their home. Shortly thereafter Bodie joined the pack, followed by the twins Siena and Jasper. Yogi is the newest family member.

Everywhere they go, people stop and ask the same question – “Hey! What Kind of Dog is That?”

Julie decided to put her love of the breed into creating this photographic tribute to Leonbergers. Photos from around the world capture their majesty, together with their loving, playful, energetic and goofy nature.

This project was born out of pure love for these amazing beings.

Julie lives in Central California with her husband and two Leonbergers. There could only ever have been one title for this, her first published book.

We currently share our lives with our fifth Leonberger (Leos are like potato chips, you can't have too many). Hey! The author gave the Leo world a great gift, capturing the spirit of these magnificent beings in print.

I especially love that this is a worldwide collection of everyday dogs doing everyday things. Over and over again I found myself delighted, as I discovered how our Leos all share the same soulfulness, quirky personalities and passions. I can't wait to share this book with our kids, as a teaching experience. We are all, in the end, connected. Hey! This book is a photographic tribute to a remarkable dog breed, the Leonberger. The author did not only include photos of her own Leonbergers but included photos from many other owners as well. The book feature 100’s of color photos from around the world as well as interesting and useful information about Leonbergers. Our Leonberger Bronco is featured on page 6-7, which is something we are grateful for. That said, I loved reading about all the other Leonbergers and learning a bit more about the Leonberger breed.

The information and the photos are presented in a charming and fun way, and it is easy reading. The book is for all ages and a great tabletop book. I will definitely be buying more copies of this book. I highly recommend it to all dog lovers and anyone thinking about getting a Leonberger.

Anyone that has had the privilege of loving a Leo knows that they change their life forever. This book is one of the best books on dogs I’ve read. Its lighthearted yet touching and has the most beautiful photos of Leos. You can tell the author is passionate about her pups. Its such a great read for all ages. I love the glossy pages! Would highly recommend to all dog lovers.
