The Chemical Brothers' first seven studio albums will again be available in the U.S. Each comes repackaged in the original sleeve artwork that the first pressings came in. Audio has been cut from the original lacquers directly from the studio of the original engineer, Mike Marsh, and fully approved by The Chemical Brothers' Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands.

The mixing of this album is great. The Chemical Brothers have an amazing ability to create some very full sound, and I feel like they were hitting their stride with 'Surrender.' Not only that, but the songs here are infectious and melodic. Whereas 'Dig Your Own Hole' was great for its big beats and bombast, 'Surrender' asserts its superiority through musical precision. The tracks on this album just feel so tight.
'Music: Response' is a great start with great bass and a catchy beat. There are some great synth beeps that serve as both melody and rhythm. At times, the song gets playful and experimental with the synth parts but never strays so far off to lose focus. Amazing song.
'Under the Influence' - BASS! This song gives you a whole drop full of bass, starting high and sliding down, and even after that, you get more driving bass and more drops! If you enjoy bass and have a good subwoofer, this song is sublime. There's more to this song than just the bass, but it's definitely the highlight.
'Out of Control' once again has a good bass line, but it's more of a melody than 'Under the Influence' and isn't as pounding, so it serves more as a piece of the whole rather than the highlight. The song has a lot of great little touches and it's kind of hard not to move when you hear it playing. There's a break around the five-minute mark which is really cool. I can't believe this song is over 7 minutes long, because it doesn't seem that long when you're listening to it.
'Orange Wedge' is a throwback to the funk that Chemical Brothers has been known to employ occasionally. Admittedly it's not my favorite, but it's not without its merits and is a nice change of pace.
'Let Forever Be' is probably the most well-known song off this album and is one of the best songs ever made in my opinion. If I had to pick my favorite 10 Chemical Brothers songs (a tough task), this would definitely be on the list. The vocals fit perfectly, and the various instrument sounds moan melodically which the drums bring the big beat feel back. There are a lot of reversed string samples in this song and they sound almost haunting, it's beautiful.
Did I say something about one of the best songs ever made? 'The Sunshine Underground' is absolutely amazing. It's on that top ten list. It may be the best song on this album. MORE BASS! Beautiful. It's one of the trademark "laid-back" Chemical Brothers songs. This song will really test your subwoofer's tightness as the low bass notes start to come in fast. I can't say enough about this song, other than if you've never heard it before, then you're missing out. This song single-handedly catapults this album to the top of everything.
'Asleep From Day' is another slow, beautiful song, with female vocals. It's very organic, not a whole lot of Chemical Brothers-ness here until the bells start chiming in, and even then its build-up is very subdued. An extremely powerful song.
'Got Glint?' is a house jam with a walking baseline. If there's filler on this album, then I guess this is it, but it's not a bad song by any means.
'Hey Boy Hey Girl' is an awesome song. It's got a disco vibe without all the suckiness of disco (I kid, sorta). Seriously though, it's infectious the way that Chemical Brothers often is. This song is perfect to listen to with particular chemicals, if you get my drift.
'Surrender' is a surprising pretty song. Lots of Eastern string type sounds in this song, and I love those kinds of songs. I thoroughly enjoy this song every time I hear it.
'Dream On' is ridiculously good, and I say this because I used to not listen to the song because I didn't like it, probably because I really didn't listen to it long enough. It's got acoustic guitar and vocals and it sounds like that's all there is until you keep listening. Classic Chemical Brothers, you have to listen to all of it to really appreciate and enjoy it.
So there's maybe two "okay" songs and the rest are really great songs, how can this not be the best Chemical Brothers album? It's a masterpiece. If you like The Chemical Brothers and you don't have this album, you need to pick it up immediately.
I recommend this album to EVERYONE! Everyone needs to be exposed to as many genres as possible and THIS album is EXCEPTIONAL.
