After a hazy, drunken night, Sean Brogan wakes up to find that his family is gone. He believes that his wife, Karen, took their thirteen-year-old twins and left him until she returns home as clueless as he is regarding the whereabouts of their children. In their hunt for the truth, Sean and Karen confront problems in their marriage, face their uncomfortable pasts, and unearth harsh truths about their children. The terrain they must navigate is the affluent, New York suburb in which they reside. Sean's tragic upbringing in the Bronx hardly prepares him for the ugliness he encounters there – a community where the line between friend and foe becomes blurrier and blurrier with each passing second that his children are missing.
