Singer Tracie Spencer Returns to Social Media for Reunion with El DeBarge and Shanice

The singer-songwriter was spotted hanging out with her celebrity friends during a recent jam session.

After a prolonged absence from the public eye, 90's R&B sensation Tracie Spencer has returned to social media.

The iconic singer is celebrated for her chart-topping hits that include "Hide and Seek" and "Symptoms of True Love,"

Spencer was spotted in a clip uploaded by TikTok user @sharemyworld2011 at what appeared to be a jam session among a star-studded group of friends.

The meetup included singers El DeBarge, Shanice, and actors Darius McCrary and Flex Alexander.

Spencer was beaming with joy as her friends welcomed her back while capturing the moment. She then starts to sing along to her 1991 classic record “Tender Kisses” from her second album “Make the Difference.”

“This Was Everything,” read the video's caption.

The singer then took to her own Instagram to share a photo of herself lounging around with DeBarge on Wednesday, July 26. In her caption, she thanked DeBarge for “lugging your keyboards across town just so you could welcome me back and bless us all with your music.”

She continued, “You went out of your way to make the night special, and none of us will ever forget it. It was so surreal, I think I cried a few times! You even managed to get me to sing!”

The singer encouraged fans who missed the “incredible” reunion to visit DeBarge’s Instagram page for more footage from the jam session.

Grammy-nominated singer Shanice also posted a selfie from that night to her Instagram page — with the post including classic track “I Like It” by the DeBarge family group.

Spencer received a warm welcome from fans and industry peers alike online. Actress Cherie Johnson wrote, “Welcome back baby girl people been asking me about you for years.”

Fans were also eager to know if new music would be coming down the pipeline. This included one Instagram user who wrote, “What are the chances of getting a collaboration with you all?? All in favor raise ya hands.”

Known for her soulful voice and chart-topping hits, the Waterloo-born singer left an unforgettable impression on the music industry during the late 80s and well into the 90s.

Spencer notably made an appearance on the iconic television series “Star Search,” where she won the junior vocalist competition and ultimately took home the $10,000 prize.

By the time she graduated high school, the young star had already earned four Top 10 singles.
