De la collection de Jean-Michel Folon. Le sujet représenté est une flèche signalétique, objet essentiel et récurrent dans l'ouvre de Folon. Folon en photographiait lui-même énormément et ses amis photographes lui envoyaient celles qu'ils trouvaient. L'intérêt du cinéaste Alain Resnais pour la photographie est connu, mais ses tirages semblent peu connus et peu nombreux. Parfait état..

Also included is a genuine Leica IIIA rangefinder camera, made by Ernst Leitz of Wetzlar, Germany, in 1938. The serial number is 278201 and was one of 19,850 made that year. The model IIIA began to be produced in 1935 but was suspended during the War, then resumed until 1948. In design it was identical to the III which had introduced slower shutter speeds, lugs for carrying the camera, and an increased rangefinder magnification to 1.5x. The main addition to the IIIA was the shutter speed of 1/1000th. The lens on this camera, which is collapsible and has a bayonet mount, is the Summar 50 mm, 1:2. It was manufactured between 1933 and 1940, and it has the serial number of 422174. A lens cap is present. The camera is in very good condition, except for the black leather which is split and partially separated from the body. Also, some of the leather around one lug is missing. Photographer unknown. Unique collection of amateur photographic images taken at the World's Columbian Exposition, also known at the Chicago World's Fair, staged in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival in the New World in 1492. Shown in the images are Fisheries Building, Mac Monies Fountain, the Illinois State Buildings, and more. One image shows a sign for an attraction on the Midway. For 10 cents, visitors could see "one girl from every civilized nation in the world." Signed by the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova, this lovely 8x10 color photo is professionally authenticated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and includes their ironclad COA. This is one of the very few 8x10 color portrait photos you will find of Cosmonaut Tereshkova. Her name has been written on the rear of the photo as shown.
