About This Item
About this Item: E. P Dutton & Co., New York, 1954. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. White Mane by Albert Lamorisse and d. Daunant is a beautiful book, taken from the film of the same name. Book and priced (2.75) jacket are very good, with minor wear at the books extremities and a 1/2" loss at the top of the jacket spine. The book is about a beautiful white stallion and a little boy and a deathless friendship between them. White Mane, leader of a herd of wild horses living off the coast of France, are hounded by rough horse herders. We last see them swimming together on and on to a land where children and animals are friends. This sugary yet heartwarming story could explain the gift inscription on the first free paper. " To Tony- from two flower children--Folco and white Mane. The hip drop outs to the sea. Love Lillian and Herb. Brings me back to the sixties, which I don't remember. Nice story to tell the grandchildren. Lots of action pictures. Seller Inventory # 001452
