1 Mile – 1983 Honda CX650 Turbo

In 1982, Honda introduced its first production turbocharged motorcycle, the CX500T. The next year, they bumped up displacement to form the Honda CX650 Turbo. While Kawasaki, and Suzuki also offered turbo’d competition, Yamaha and Honda were the most successful from a commercial standpoint. With that said, turbocharged production bikes never caught on, and only approximately 1,200 of these bikes ever came to the United States. At the time, Honda was donating some motorcycles to technical schools – the CBX was the most common offering, but this CX650T was also part of the program and it appears that it has never bene ridden.

This example (VIN: JH2RC1609DM000466) was donated to the Technical Trades Division of Mobile County Public Schools in Mobile, Alabama and as far as I can tell it’s basically sat ever since. The tires are flat, it’s missing the key and any paperwork, and the brakes have seized, but this might be a potential deal for a display piece or for someone who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty and getting this bike on the road where it belongs.
