Harry Styles
Musician & Actor
The music superstar and budding actor has cemented his fashion chops on stage and off — through a long-term relationship with Gucci’s Alessandro Michele.
Harry Styles is a musician, ambassador for Gucci and fashion icon.
One of the most popular musicians in the world, Styles has developed a massive and loyal fanbase, not only for his music, but also his vintage-inspired, brightly-coloured looks, frequently working with stylist Harry Lambert .
Styles first rose to fame as a member of the 2010s boy band One Direction, which was formed on X Factor and became a worldwide phenomenon. The group went on hiatus in 2015, and Styles released his self-titled debut solo album two years later. Since then, his star power has eclipsed that of One Direction, with songs like “As It Was,” “Watermelon Sugar” and “Sign of the Times” all topping the charts.
As Styles’s music career has exploded, so has his role in fashion and beauty. Known for his gender-neutral ensembles that experiment with pattern, vintage touches like wide collars and bold colours both on-stage and off, Styles has become something of a fashion icon, particularly for Gen-Z, which cares less about gender expectations in fashion than any generation that came before it. In 2017, he was named an ambassador for Gucci, appearing in several campaigns and wearing Gucci on the red carpet. In 2022, Gucci and Styles released their first product collaboration.
His fashion prowess goes beyond advertising: In November 2020, he became the first man to appear on the cover of American Vogue solo — and did so wearing a dress, to boot. In November 2021, he broke into beauty with his nail polish brand Pleasing — a fitting choice, given that Styles is known for his love of nail polish.
