Jair Bolsonaro, candidato di estrema destra, si è imposto su Fernando Haddad, l’erede politico di Lula da Silva, per 45% contro 28%, secondo i primi exit poll diffusi dopo la chiusura dei seggi per il primo turno delle elezioni presidenziali in Brasile. Con questi risultati si andrà al ballottaggio.
