Lamborghini is developing a new hardcore variant of the Huracan Evo, but not even it will be capable of matching the performance of this unique Huracan recently spotted lapping the Nurburgring.
What we’re looking at appears to be a genuine Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo race car that has been converted for street use, as you can see by its license plate.
The original Huracan Super Trofeo was unveiled back in 2014 with rear-wheel drive and appears to be the variant we’re looking at, as opposed to the newer Super Trofeo Evo. From a visual standpoint, this road-legal version looks virtually identical to the race car, leading us to wonder just how it has been approved for street use, particularly in Germany where vehicles need TUV certification.

At the front, the car retains a striking bumper with aerodynamic canards and large air extractors on the hood. Additionally, we can see that much of the body has been left in exposed carbon fiber, including the front wheel arches with louvers. Spin around to the rear and it too is covered in carbon fiber and includes a massive rear wing, diffuser, and the engine cover of the race car. Heck, even the racer’s plastic side windows have been retained.
Powering the Huracan Super Trofeo models is a 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 delivering 612 hp at 8,250 rpm and 420 lb-ft (570 Nm) of torque at 6,500 rpm. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if this car has been modified to offer up more power than that.
Sadly, a look at the YouTube description of this video, as well as the comments, reveals that the road-legal racer caught fire not long after this video was filmed. Thus, the following footage can serve as a tribute to an amazing piece of kit that, sadly, if the fire story is true, is no longer around.
