This is the real thing, genuine IGP (Indication Geographic Protected) Modena Cotechino. The IGP is your certification that the Cotechino is produced in the specific Italian region in the old traditional way. It is made from select spiced Italian pork.
Cotechino is wonderful year round, but it is particularly tradition in all of Italy to eat it on a big bed of cooked lentils on New Year's Eve as it will give good luck for the coming year.
This 1/2 kg (1.1 lb.) Cotechino comes fully cooked in a foil bag -just heat through, slice and serve. Easiest way to heat is put the bag in a pot of lightly boiling water.

Authentic flavor that everyone loves
I’m Italian born and raised, now living in Los Angeles. This cotechino is exactly what we (Italians) are used to. Tender and very rich in flavor. All my American friends loved it and asked for more for the next holiday party. I will definitely purchase it again from Casa de Case! The meat is precooked (standard practice) and it comes in a sealed aluminum package which makes it very convenient to warm up before serving. Just submerge the package in boiling water for 20 min and you’re done. And don’t forget lentils! Enjoy.
