This performance is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of China Peking Opera Theatre.
The story of Beijing Opera Rob the Prince Tomb was adapted from the famous classic novel Water Margin, that described that an army of Liangshan bandit led by Song Jiang rebelled against the corrupted government at the end of the North Song Dynasty.
Shi Qian, Yang Xiong and Shi Xiu became blood brothers, then went to Liangshan for shelter. They heard that Hou Huai, official's son of Jizhou Prefecture, slinkingly colluded with baddie Xue Xian to rob the tomb of Prince Hao. Shi Qian assigned his good friend Jia Ya to interlard with thieves and hold off the robbery. Shi Qian put his skill to good use and killed the baddies, finally took the jewelry of the tomb to Lianshan.
