I bought these for my brother's birthday and it hasn't come yet -- we have read all the Robert B. Parker "Spenser" books. He's going to love the DVD's! So glad you had them.

4 FILMS TO MISS
I regret buying these 4 films. I watched the TV series many years ago and liked them. The films seemed more hard boiled cruel etc. The dialogue was minimal and as the actors mumbled away from camera, dialogue was missed as was the plot. A lot of male testosterone and posturing took place being vaguely silly. I laughed out loud at the silly hand to hand fight at the end of film 2 when the baddy walked away without being arrested. I found myself watching the clock waiting for the 4 films to end.I regret buying these 4 films. I watched the TV series many years ago and liked them. Daughter grew up in the 1980's and loved the series. Cannot seem to find a Series SET, so I went with the Movie collection. Great idea expecially on DVD. . To be able to view these old TV programs, as opposed to the sickening Reality Shows on today's television. The only decent stuff is so boring. 10 different versions of CSI's and Law & Order. Hmmm. No more imagination in today's TV programming. I also got the Vega$ series with Robert Urich for my. He was a great actor. Lot of quality acting. I am another fan of the TV series, the novels, and the four movies. Spenser was brought to life by Robert Urich, who demonstrated the compassion, humor, deductive reasoning and fierceness the character requires. The supporting cast was well written and the actors well selected. Occasionally, I felt the story line could have been improved a bit. Films often fall a little short of the novel. There is a little more graphic behavior in the DVD's than I remember from the TV presentation. Therefore, I would caution parents of young or immature children.I am another fan of the TV series, the novels, and the four movies.
