RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo is once again a name linked with a big-money move to the Premier League ahead of the January transfer window. The Spain international was heavily tipped to complete a switch to England in 2020 prior to his move to the Bundesliga.

Olmo had emerged as one of Europe's most exciting midfielders throughout his time at Dinamo Zagreb. He scored 34 goals and assisted another 28 in 124 games in Croatia before completing a £17million move to Leipzig.

In Germany, Olmo has continued to impress with another 26 goals and 30 assists. This season, RB Leipzig have enjoyed a good start to the season - winning four of their opening seven - with Olmo one of Marco Rose's most influential players.

Now, reports from Spain have suggested that Arsenal are among the many clubs interested in Olmo. Mundo Deportivo claim the Gunners are joined by Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid ahead of the upcoming window.

Olmo reportedly has a £52million release clause in his contract at the Red Bull Arena and is said to be open to a possible transfer. However, if Arsenal are going to make their move, they'll have to convince Olmo to move to England.

Back in 2020, Olmo was linked with a move to Chelsea after a 'firm offer' was made by the Blues under Frank Lampard. But, according to former Dinamo Zagreb sporting director Zoran Mamic, the playmaker had no intention to move to the Premier League.

"It's hard to say now. We could have done more, for sure, but it wasn't just our decision,"Mamic said, as per Sportske. "We could have told Danny that we did not agree to go to Leipzig, that we had not agreed, but that would not be fair to him.

"We didn't do the problem, although there were bigger deals. Although this is by far the biggest deal, the bonuses are realistic, plus 20 percent of future transfers.

"Dani did not want to go to Italy and England, he insisted on Leipzig, if we had had a day or two, he would probably be in Bayern.

"But, Dani said he wanted to Leipzig, he was very keen on the option and should respect it. When he came from Barcelona to Dynamo everyone said "crazy". Now they say "hear him, he's going to Leipzig!".
