Caterina Zanetti has it all: a charmed life in an elegant neighborhood in Rome, a top of the line car, an aristocratic boyfriend and a glorious future as a pampered society housewife. Until her father persuades her to move to the USA and spend her second year of college at UCF in Orlando. In less than twenty-four hours, before she’s even over her jet lag, her whole life is turned upside down.

Just one look at her handsome next-door neighbor is all it takes for her to question her perfect, programmed existence.

“That's exactly the kind of guy you need to stay away from,” her father warns as they get out of the taxi.

Yes, because Benjamin Carter looks exactly like the kind of bad boy who makes smart girls do stupid things.

Everyone thinks he has it all. Women literally fall at his feet, he has the highest grades on his course and he's the singer in one of the most popular college rock bands in the city. Yet something is missing. Someone is missing. Someone to help him understand that not everything in life is black or white, who'll stand up to him and force him to remove the mask he's been hiding behind all his life. And apparently, that someone has the yellow eyes of a wild cat and a sexy Italian accent that drives him crazy.

Will he win the heart of the beautiful foreign student who is intent on keeping him at arm's length or will his wild, impetuous character ruin everything?

Valentina Ferraro is an Italian Contemporary, YA/NA Romance and Amazon best seller author. She was born in Rome, in the early (very early) 80’s but lived all around the globe. She left her heart in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she lived for three years as a teenager and made a long life pact with herself: one day she will move back there.
Her stories are filled with love triangles, laugh-out-loud humour, want-to-kill-both-of-the-characters moments and just the right amount of sexiness.
She has a beautiful daughter who looks just like her (never – NEVER – tell her differently), a gorgeous and loving husband and a half-breed dog: half Labrador and half Satan!

There’s something I want to tell you first before going into my review of this story: For the most part, I run away fast and furiously from any book that involves New Adults because they make me twitchy! That being said, here are my thoughts on this book …

Valentina Ferraro captured the essence of these very young kids incredibly well. The drama, ridiculous decisions and push/pull ran rampant thru this entire story and if I’m being honest, I had to take a lot of deep breaths while I read this LOL However, I can honestly say that for the most part, the choices the author made in writing all the young age twitchiness fit the characters and the story well. I enjoyed the dynamics between all the characters, leading and secondary, and I’m actually looking forward to reading more about them in the future (hopefully) ... This is the first book translated from Italian to English by this author so I’m not quite sure how many more she might have.

If you’re a fan of New Adult Romance, this will be a sure hit for you, and if you tend to shy away from it like I do, I’d give it a try anyway because the story was humorous and fun, full of emotion and heart and very well written!

This book was first published in Italian in 2016 and is this author’s first novel to be translated in English. So congrats to her for that!!

This story definitely has a lot going on. Sexy neighbors who play in a band, college-aged kids making poor decisions, parties, DRAMA, cheating, and some steamy scenes that make your toes curl.

Caterina travels to Orlando, Florida from Italy to attend college. She moves in with a couple of gals who live next door to two brothers, Mark & Ben. Mark is super friendly and flirty and outgoing, while Ben is standoffish and broody. Just the way I like ‘em. Cat and Mark hit it off as friends...really good friends, and she can’t help but be attracted to bad boy Ben. But she knows she shouldn’t be. Because...boyfriend back in Italy.

Realizing she wasn’t happy, wasn’t really “living” while in Rome, she experiences the freedom she could have, sees how she can be herself, instead of being under watchful eyes, telling her how she should act, what she should wear, what not to eat.

The push and pull between the h/H was strong in this one. It drove me crazy. Sometimes a good crazy, sometimes a bad crazy. The indecisiveness and poor choices made by the heroine irritated me. I wanted to shake her or slap some sense into her quite a few times. LOL

Was there a lot of unnecessary, childish behavior with these college-aged characters? IMO, yes. Was this book longer than it needed to be? I think so. Am I too old for this type of book? Perhaps.

Just because this wasn’t my favorite read, doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it. I know there are plenty of readers who love these kinds of stories, ones full of angst. And this is SUPER angsty. Big time. Like...I-want-to-pull-my-hair-out-and-throw-my-kindle angsty. If you love that sort of thing, you should read this! Plenty of the feels. Kudos to the author for making me feel all the emotions associated with this book.

I really enjoyed the scenes where the band played. I’m a sucker for musicians, and Ben was definitely a sexy one. And the playlist - I loved it! I discovered quite a few new-to-me songs that I fell in love with.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

New to me, Author: Valentina Ferraro did a great job with this story. It had my heart totally invested and I was a total goner when it came to Ben. What can I say, I’m a sucker for the broody, sexy, musician types. And well...he definitely fits the bill. The story is one that will suck you in and I enjoyed it. Definitely worth checking this read out!

“Choose Me” AMAZING!
“You’re mine or you’re his. I don’t share.”

This is the first book of the Matching Scar series, there are 3 main books and various spin-offs. I’ve already read all of them in italian and they are like a drug for me, because these books are addictive! The story tells about a young italian girl Caterina, who decided to study a whole year in Florida and moved there from Rome, living with her roommates Jess and Erika and her neighbors, Carter brothers, Mark and Ben. A beautiful friendship is immediately created between all the main and secondary characters.

Even though Cat has already a boyfriend, Leonardo, she immediately falls in love with Ben, the cold and grumpy guy, only in appearance, which will prove to be very cute. The passion grows between them to the point that they will no longer be able to be separated. But, Christmas is coming and Cat must return in Rome for the holidays and has to face her boyfriend, who doesn't want to know about leaving her. So, what will Cat do? How will Ben react? He is impulsive and sees everything either black or white, there is no middle ground for him, and this will be a main feature of this series.

The author, Valentina Ferraro, was able to drag you into this vortex of emotions that make you want to know more and more. She leaves you in suspense, brings you to the maximum point of happiness and then sinks you down, in sadness and anger. The story of Ben and Cat is one of my favourite, it is well written and there are a lot of songs that will keep you company while reading, but the most beautiful of all is “Hunger” by Ross Copperman.
I highly recommend this series and all the spin-offs!!!

Ah, to be a horny teenager abroad, making dumb decisions.

That just about sums up this novel, I think. It wasn't necessarily my thing, but I will say it seems like a really good take on a lot of the traditional romance cliches and I think big Romance fans will definitely like this one. Unfortunately for me, it fell a bit flat. While not my usual genre - I prefer my romance to be subplots or to go up against bigger odds than these two did - I really did give this a fair chance and I definitely enjoyed some parts. When they were getting along, Ben and Cat were cute and I absolutely adored Cat's friendship with Mark.

(Seriously, I love Mark Carter. Need me a man like that.)

However, I prefer my bad boys to be polite and sweet beneath the bad boy exterior and Ben was just too much of a hothead. I didn't like Leo, but I wasn't really rooting for Ben either. Hell, I kind of wish Cat had gotten together with Mark! Ben just kept blowing up too much and I couldn't see him in a romantic light because of that. I'm sure others will find his possessive bad boy ways very sexy, but it just wasn't for me.

I received an ARC from the author Valentina Ferraro, for an honest review.
I read “Choose me” in Italian last year, for the first time. I’ve loved it, since then. Cat and Ben are two explosive characters, and they are a real ticking bomb. During the time they will spend together, we know that they are two different people, who come from two different worlds: she’s from Rome, well-off, at times snooty, sure she knows what her path is, while he’s American, a free spirit and a dreamer. Nothing more different from each other but just one glance and both only see the other. No one else exists in the world. During their trip, that will lead them to rediscover themselves, they will be with the friends of a lifetime: Mark (Ben’s brother), Jessica, Abby, Erika, Kris and Ryan. Let yourself be carried away by their emotions... you will always want to read a little more. Heartfelt congrats to Valentina Ferraro: both in English and Italian, this book has taken me far away... almost along the coast of Daytona Beach.

Choose Me is an intense love story and completely addictive. I loved Ben although he is a little OTT and makes too many rash decisions but generally his heart is in the right place. Their ongoing arguments and misunderstandings became a bit repetitive but characters like Mark, Kris and Jessica make good distractions. Mark, especially, adds a sense of fun and mischievousness. He's adorable and cute and I loved his and Cat's sweet and platonic friendship. Cat's father is another brilliant character. He's the cool dad everyone loves and he's really understanding and supportive of Cat. His reaction to her confession at the end of the book had me smiling as did the lovely, heartwarming ending.

I hope the rest of this series gets translated to English soon!

I really enjoyed this NA romance! There was a lot of drama and poor decision making but it managed to not over the top. I loved the dynamic between the side characters as much as I did between the main characters and they all felt distinct and well-rounded. The scenes where the band were playing were great and definitely gave me a soft spot for Ben, the male lead.

Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a new NA romance that has plot with just enough of the sexy stuff.

Note: An ARC was provided by the author.

A quick note: This book does contain cheating, so if this happens to be a hard limit for any readers, consider this your heads-up. There's quite a bit that goes on in this series starter, and while it does have a happy-for-now ending, there is an epilogue that makes it clear that something has gone amiss between those two sections. Most of the characters in this story are college-aged kids, so they don't necessarily make the wisest of choices at times, going with impulse rather than taking the time to weigh out the consequences of any actions they may take. I'm not saying that sort of thing is exclusive to that particular age group or that everyone who is part of that group is such, but hey, I'd like to think that as we get older, we know better. Cat and Ben, particularly the former, bring the drama, and that's due in large part to the note I pasted on at the beginning of this section of my review. There were moments of frustration on my end, and that's mostly because I could see the heartbreak coming from a mile away and I wished there was more contemplation and communication happening between the main characters. That being said, this was a promising start and I quite liked the supporting characters. Four stars go to Choose Me. ♥

Choose me is not only a love story, it’s the story of strong friendships and soul connections. The characters are all well built and you immediately get in touch with them. Within few pages you will find yourself in the kitchen sitting on the stool next to Cat, dancing and jumping at the club with the girls, drooling over Ben, laughing at Mark’s silliness or crying and getting really angry when things go down.
Cat is an Italian girl who decides to move to Florida to live the dream of her death mother. She’s got everything – a rich boyfriend waiting for her in Rome, a lovely father, a new car and lots of trendy clothes. She’s happy and satisfied…until she meets Ben and her world goes upside down. Ben, the sexy neighbor, the musician, the smart boy who cooks pancakes half naked, the stubborn Ben who thinks there are no shades in life: either white or black.
What will Cat choose? Her old life or the new one, black or white?
What are you waiting for? Choose Valentina and read her book until you are Ben and Cat’s addicted, just like me!

This is the first book I read from Valentina Ferraro and I really liked it, I was glued to it from the first pages. Ben and Cat are very well defined characters and, even though they are very different, I really liked the way they become closer and closer, from neighbours to lovers. Caterina Zanetti, arriving from Rome to Orlando, to attend there a year of University, would have never imagined she will find great friends, among which the Carter brothers, her neighbours. Benjamin, in particular, attracts her since the very first glance. "That's exactly the kind of guy you need to stay away from", her father advised her. But their attraction is too strong. Ben is a smart, nice and sexy young boy; actually, seeing him every day, hanging around in her house, making pancakes half naked, is not of any help for Cat! Sparkles between them will be inevitable, since also Ben is really attracted by the yellow eyes of this wild "cat"... I really loved this story and I suggest it to anyone who likes passionate love stories. Than ks to the author, who sent me an ARC for a honest review.

4 Stars!!

As soon as I finished the synopsis I couldn't wait to read this book! I couldn't turn away from my kindle once I started it and I stayed up all night reading until I reached the end. I really enjoyed it!

Cat and Ben's journey isn't easy and that's one of the things that pulled me into their story even more. From the frustrating moments to the blushworthy ones and everything in between, I felt every single bit of it. With each chapter I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next with these characters!

This was my first time reading Valentina's work and I'm so glad that I picked up Choose Me! She created such an addictive story that's filled with all kinds of feels! I hope to read more from her soon! ♥️

You know when you read a title and a blurb and it sounds sort of interesting and then you read the book it just what it said. The problem is that I always expect more, anticipating that the title and blurb is just he lure into what will be wonderful. That didn't happen, she's fr/Italy, starts at school in Florida to fulfill deceased moms dream, meets neighbor, insta love. BUT she has a boyfriend she's been w/for 4 years. Cheats w/neighbor after realizing she's just staying w/current boyfriend out of comfort, returns to Italy and ends it. There is all this drama in between but it was so dumb, the H sleeps w/other women, is hot headed but not in a sexy way. They act like 14 year olds. HEA but then in the next book, it turns out the H dumped her. I will not read this author again.

This is a series that has not been fully translated

This is the first book in a series. If you read the first book it appears to be a complete book. If you read the first chapter for the next book then you are left with a cliffhanger. There is no word when the rest of the series will be translated. It is a great book. Enjoyed the characters. However, now I have a cliffhanger. I don’t like cliffhangers without word on the next release. I would not have read this if I knew it wasn’t completed. While I am intrigued by the next book, sadly I probably won’t remember to look for the next one...

Love and music

I have to admit that once I started this book I was immediately sucked in. The author did an amazing job of describing her characters and giving us their backstory. I absolutely loved Mark. This book had some intense sexual tension between the main characters. There was a lot of funny moments as well as emotional moments. Once I finished I was immediately looking for book number two. Unfortunately it is not available in English. I will be on the look out and purchase it as soon as it comes out. I look forward to learning more about the characters and what the future has in store for them. Bravo to the author.

I love this book. Ben and Cat keep you on the edge of your seat...will they.... won't they? Will Cat, who's spending a year at college in Florida, return to her old life, old boyfriend in Rome or will she finally give into Ben's demand to choose him and no one else.
Both fiery and stubborn, Caterina, the spoiled little rich girl from Rome and Ben, honors student and musician, are perfect for each other...they just have to admit it!
Great supporting cast. Mark, adds comic relief, while Cat's two housemates give her love, support and turkey sandwiches!

This is the first time I have read from this Author. This book does have cheating in it, so if that is a problem for you then I wouldn’t read it. But if you like sexy musicians then this is the book for you! I think that Valentina F. did a great job telling this story. Ben and Cat are so perfect for each other. They both drive me crazy through this book but Mark was always there to save the day he is absolutely my kind of guy! Choose Me, was a great read. It will have you turning the pages, needing to know what happens next! I definitely recommend it!
