Harry Styles may be one of the most fashionable men in Hollywood today, but that doesn’t mean his attendance at fashion’s biggest night is guaranteed.
Indeed, Styles once again opted out of the Met Gala—the “As It Was” singer was nowhere to be found on the carpeted steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight.
While he has yet to publicly comment on missing the big event, Styles’s absence may come as no surprise, considering he has only ever appeared at the Met Gala once. His first and last time attending the gala was in 2019, when he cohosted the evening alongside fellow chair Lady Gaga. At the time, Styles embraced the year’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion” dress code in a bespoke Gucci look, comprised of a sheer Victorian-esque blouse with a pussy bow, ultra-high-rise trousers, and glossy black leather heeled shoes.
Despite his track record of skipping the Met Gala, fans had still hoped to see Styles’s return, given the attendance of his girlfriend, Taylor Russell.
A source for People recently opened up about the couple, who went public with their romance in June 2023.
“They are fairly serious and have traveled together. They do spend time in England,” the insider told the outlet, adding that Styles is a “private person” and that he and Russell “have the same interests.”
“She has carved a life for herself and worked toward doing what she wanted,” the source noted. “She is talented.”
