As a front-row regular, Anna Wintour caused quite a stir in the fashion world when she decided to take a backseat — sitting second row — at Valentino‘s Paris Fashion Week show on Tuesday.

Wintour, who originally sat front row, was said to have moved because the seating was too tight in the front row. According to Fashionista, the Vogue editor-in-chief moved possibly to let Sarah Mower, a reviewer of the show for Vogue.com, sit in the front next to Vogue‘s creative director Grace Coddington.
Wall Street Journal ‘s Christina Binkley first captured the moment on Instagram, while WSJ ‘s fashion director Meenal Mistry tweeted, “A major seating kerfuffle at @MaisonValentino has Anna Wintour sitting in (gasp!) the second row.”
Fashion blogger Bryan Boy described Wintour as a “badass” for moving back to let her editors sit in the front more comfortably.

Anna Wintour: badass. Tight seating at Valentino, not enough space on the front row so she let her Editors sit front while she sat second.

PR folks asked her to move to front and she didn’t budge. Respect.
