My eraser cap doesn't rattle at all. If your cap rattles a lot, it may be missing the tiny O-ring. The button action is firm and solid, and overall the pencil feels fantastic in the hand despite being so small, especially compared to the super "slim" pencils. I only wish the lead sleeve itself could retract, but that's a minor quibble. I like this pencil so much that I bought a second... Too bad Jetpens doesn't carry the matching ballpoint pen!

Almost too small to justify the price but it is sturdy.

Lead breaks inside the advance mechanism, and comes out in tiny chunks. Completely unusable. Complete waste of $40.

Great pencil, fits in small storage, convenient, fits well in hand, does everything I need.
