Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia aka Akshay Kumar- Indian Canadian Actor

There is a buzz in news wherein Cristiano Ronaldo’s clip has gone viral about how he removed Coke bottles placed on dais and toasts for a water bottle. While it takes a lot of guts and courage to fearlessly do this kind of act without the fear of pressure from sponsorers.

Let’s take a dig at what message Ronaldo was trying to deliver as he himself is not only an athlete but also promotes for fit and healthy lifestyle and eating habits. 1 can of Coke is almost 300ml or so. It has 39gm of sugar. It has 0% of other nutrients like fats and proteins. He knows that there are absolutely no nutritional aids of drinking coke as this has only a carbonated water with sugar that gives you unhealthy empty calories. It does have a caffeine of 34mg but that’s too less to cause you adrenaline rush or the kick you want while focusing on any kind of work.

When it comes to Indian athletes, especially the celebrities, why can’t they stand on the right side of the truth? I had also exposed Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia about his hypocrite nature about six months back when he said whey protein is not required and now himself promoting the Horlicks Protein Plus (HPP) as a good source of protein which is an absolute lie. Let’s see the dirty commercials involved it this business of making people fool. Hindustan Unilever who are the makers of Horlicks Protein Plus brand paid RHOB (Akshay Kumar) Rs. 5 Crores for this TV commercial to promote Horlicks Protein Plus as healthy option of protein source. While he himself doesn’t bother to use this product on daily basis or doesn’t even know the nutritional facts of that product, he just does the commercial promotions because he is after making money. There nothing to do with the fitness of the people or the horrible side effects it could make on peoples’ health. The only one sentence of the below commercial is true that the actor comments that we need to devour the same amount of proteins in grams every day as your weight, so if we weigh 80 kg then we need to consume 80 gm of protein every single day.

Now let’s see what Horlicks Protein Plus gives us. 400gm jar of Horlicks Protein Plus costs Rs. 495 on Amazon. Following the nutritional information of it.

As per Akshay Kumar, let’s assume that you don’t consume protein through any other sources of food being a vegetarian and just decide on the munch protein through Horlicks protein plus powder. Per 100gm of Horlicks Protein Plus has only 34gm of protein. The scoop inside the jar is of 30gm. So, in order to chomp 80gm of protein (assuming your body weight as 80KG), you need to have 235gm HPP powder to be added to your milk glass. One scoop in jar will give you only 12gm of protein. The utter lunacy is that you need to add 235gm of HPP powder that means ~7.8 scoops of it to milk. The most treacherous and morbid thing is that you will end up gulping 35gm of processed sugar from it. This is approximately eating 8.5 teaspoons of processed sugar. India stands in second position when it comes to diabetes and overweight. Imagine what would happen if all the people start believing in Akshay Kumar and start consuming that much of protein requirement through HPP. The 400gm HPP jar will not even last long for 2 days. Theoretically, it will last only for 1.7 days. To consume 80 gm HPP, you need to shell out Rs. 291 per day. Let’s say you don’t consume 80gm HPP and just take 1 scoop of it in milk, then it will give you only 10.2gm of protein which will cost you Rs. 37.  Now let’s compare it with the whey protein which I have been using since last 5 years i.e. with Ultimate Nutrition Prostar Whey Protein 5.28Lbs. It has 80 servings i.e. 1 scoop is of 30gm and gives you 25gm of protein. The cost of 5.28LBS is now Rs. 4300 in retail market. So, it costs me only Rs. 54 per scoop for 25gm protein where as HPP will cost me Rs. 74 for 20gm of protein which will also give me 30gm of sugar against that of only 1 gm of sugar from Prostar Whey protein. In a nutshell, if you want to consume 80gm of protein as suggested by Akshay Kumar, you need to spend Rs. 291 whereas same 80gm of protein with almost negligible sugar for only Rs. 172. Moreover, Prostar Whey is 80% concentrate whey protein and 20% Isolate form. HPP has 18% soy isolate in it which no sensible athlete in world will prefer to go with. HPP will give me 226kcal for 20gm of protein whereas for 25gm of protein of Prostar will give me only 120kcal which is easier to burn as well. Be mindful that you are not only drinking HPP but the other food items that you eat throughout the day also gives you excess calories which is not easier to burn at all considering most of us are still in sedentary lifestyle as work places have not started in full fledge. You people are wise enough to figure out what these extra calories will do to your body.

Most of the celebrities like Akshay Kumar just endorse the brand for the sake of money but it is up to the wise people to decide if we follow their advice or not.
