With the start of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season just two weeks away, Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti unveiled its season line-up on Tuesday. The series will begin during the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Cadillac.
WTRAndretti will field four cars in three different classes of the series, which consists of five stops in the U.S. The final races of the season will be held in conjunction with the World Finals in Spain in November.
Lamborghini Palm Beach returns as dealer support for the WTRAndretti team.
The defending PRO class champions will have a new look this season. Returning champion Danny Formal will be teamed up with Ryan Norman. Formal and Kyle Marcelli won a record 10 races last year. The pair will still be driving partners in the No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini GT3 EVO2 in the GTD category of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Norman and Formal look to make it three consecutive PRO titles for the team.
“I’m very excited to be returning with WTRAndretti in the 2024 LST championship,” Norman said. “The team has become like a family to me and we have grown together so much over the course of last season. I think the driver combo of Danny Formal and me will be very strong as well.
“We really pushed each other throughout the 2023 season and it definitely made me a better driver. I’m confident we have all the tools needed to make a run at the championship and I can’t wait to get started at Sebring.”
Nate Stacy and Nick Persing will again be teamed up in the No. 8 WTRAndretti Lamborghini in the PRO/AM class. The two races together quite a bit last year, although there were two races with conflicting commitments. Still, the team managed two wins and five podiums.
“I am extremely excited to be a part of the WTRAndretti Super Trofeo stable for the 2024 season,” Persing said. “This will be my first full year with the team, and I can’t wait to see what we can do when given the opportunity to race for the championship. It was an honor to race with WTRAndretti in the first place and an even bigger honor to be welcomed back for a full season.”
In the AM class will be Graham Doyle in the No. 10 DEX Imaging Lamborghini. Doyle will also be serving as the third driver in the No. 45 WeatherTech GTD car.
“In my first season I was able to grow and develop as a driver earning my first win and fighting for a championship,” Doyle said. “Going into my second season as a part of the AM class, I hope to continue to grow as a driver and contend for wins in my second season.”
