Freeport cheer captain Ethan Parker signed his letter of intent to become a Spring Hill College Badger on Monday.

Parker has been on the varsity cheerleading team for three years and is the captain this season.

He was also a part of the competitive cheer squad Zero Gravity.

“I was shocked at first of course, and like it was so relieving and beyond exciting, cause it’s not something that happens all the time especially with like the sport I’m in,” Parker said. “So it’s really exciting and shocking for me.”

His cheer coach Rian Lyday said she was extremely proud of him.

“It shows everybody that cheer is a sport and that they are athletic people, picking each other up, flipping and maybe gives us some more credibility as being a strong sport,” Lyday said.
