Kathmandu's infrastructure was unprepared to absorb the shocks from Saturday's 7.8-magnitude earthquake, which struck near the Nepalese capital. More than 5,000 people have been reported killed by the quake, mostly in Nepal, with the total expected to rise. More than 60 people perished in India and 25 have been reported killed in China. These pictures show rescue workers sifting through rubble on Sunday, the collapse of many historic buildings, and people preparing bodies for cremation. The photographs contain graphic material.
