Panama City man killed in Jackson County head-on crash

CAMPBELLTON — A head-on collision on US 231 at the intersection with Highway 2 left a Panama City man dead early Sunday morning. 

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Tavares F. Holland, 30, was killed when he crossed into oncoming traffic while traveling north on US 231 at around 4:45 a.m. crashing head-on into a Dodge Promaster van traveling southbound with a family from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Benjamin Albin, 44, and his passengers Ginger Albin, 43; Brooklyn Albin, 12; and Joseph Albin, 9, were transported to Southeast Health with minor injuries.

It is not yet known if alcohol played a factor in the crash, as tests are pending on Holland, who was pronounced dead on scene. Charges may be pending, according to FHP.
