Perhaps you've heard of a Tom Collins—a classic gin-based cocktail with lemon juice, sugar, and carbonated water poured over ice. Well, get ready to meet his brother, John Collins.

A John Collins is very similar to a Tom Collins, except it switches out the gin for Irish whiskey. But any whiskey you choose will compliment the lemony taste of the drink. This is the perfect cocktail to serve alongside a charcuterie board.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Irish whiskey

  • ½ ounce simple syrup

  • 1 ounce lemon juice

  • 3 ounces club soda

  • Lemon wedge, for garnish

Directions

  1. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup to an ice-filled collins glass.

  2. Top with soda and stir to combine.

  3. Garnish with lemon wedge.
