Blu B It's basically The Sixth Sense mixed with The 1963 Haunting and it's as good as you'd expect. It really moves at a steady and deliberate pace for 90% of the runtime until the plot twist at the end and it's a darn good one. The performances are really good but really pick up steam and the emotion boils over in the second half pushing it over the edge all around. It can feel a bit serious, slow, and maybe a bit on the robotic/dull side at first but the cinematography is so darn strong, atmospheric, and with interesting characters it keeps your attention the entire way. It 100% rewards you for your patience. It's really good the entire time but it maybe could've been a bit less meandering at times as this feels more like a Horror Drama rather than a straight Horror/thriller pick. It maybe also could've done a better job at ramping things up a bit quicker but honestly the payoff is so good, the direction, and characters are so interesting it doesn't really matter once you get there. Just be patient and stay with it. Everyone should give this a try once. All Time Classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review Audience Member Excelente actuación de Nicole Kidman, muy buena película y excelente desarrollo, un plot twist inesperado, mantiene al espectador atento. Recomendada para todo público Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review David H One of the few "horror movies" that actually scared me. Nicole Kidmans finest work (that I've seen) in my opinion. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review Leaburn O After many years I eventually got round to watching. Pretty decent horror film with plenty of twists. Nicely done and carried by Kidman throughout. I watched this one on Amazon Prime before finishing it on DVD. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review Brett C I saw this at the cinema and thought it was great. What it did do was introduce me to an Irish actress name of Fionulla Flanagan who didn't act rather inhabit her role. Marvellous xx ❤️😁 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Joel H The Others shines because of its simplicity. It's a throwback to classic horror movies that built fear based on suspense rather than shocking visual effects or grotesque deaths, which makes it more timeless. Nicole Kidman emotes as if she were trying for an Academy Award, and even the child actors give engaging performances. I also love how this film keeps making you think it's going one way, but then quickly turns another way. And there is an oddly optimistic feel to this movie, despite the dark subject matter. The Others is a well-made thriller which helps prove that PG-13 horror can be effective. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anton Bitel Little White Lies With its dark old house, its persistent past and its invasive hauntings, Alejandro Amenábar’s fifth feature offers all the trappings of a classic gothic, while turning the screw with a very unusual perspective on these supernatural goings-on. Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Wendy Ide Times (UK) Alejandro Amenábar’s elegant chiller creates more tension from atmosphere alone than most other horror films do from vats full of fake blood. Aug 15, 2023 Full Review Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com The performances, writing, production design, cinematography, music, directing -- it's all top-notch. Everything about this movie really works. Rated: A+ Oct 23, 2020 Full Review Dan DiNicola The Daily Gazette (Schenectady, NY) Nicole Kidman is at her icy best in this psychological thriller, showing the kind of silent inner fear that first brought her attention outside her native Australia in 1989's Dead Calm.
