The Ghost in the Ice Cave
This is a rare glimpse inside a Volcanic Glacier. Directly across from this glacier is Katla, Iceland’s largest volcano. If you look closely to the inside of the cave, you’ll see the layers of volcanic ash. Almost like the rings of a tree, they tell the story of how the glacier formed over thousands of years. Each layer representing a massive volcanic eruption that covered the entire glacier, only to be covered in ice and snow again.
