The house houses part of the original furnishings left by the former owners, a conspicuous collection of juridical, theological and various types of volumes, published between the end of the 17th century and the first decades of 1900, which consists of about 1000 volumes, and a documentary collection. The most interesting part of the exhibition, however, is the historical newspaper library. In the museum itinerary linked to the permanent collection, the ground floor is characterized by the integration between the reconstruction of some of the living areas of the stately home and the information given on the historical period in the magazines of the time. The first floor has the entire newspaper library. The itinerary is structured by topic: from news to politics, to satire to art, literature and illustrated magazines. The route may vary depending on the creation of temporary exhibitions. The museum's exhibition spaces and its collections can be adapted according to these installations.
Why it is important to visit it
The itineraries proposed in the museum's educational laboratories are inspired by the methods of active education, and intend to offer the opportunity to compete with the “real”, building a climate of research that sees in the laboratory and experimentation the rediscovery of the pleasure of learning. It is in this perspective that the Casa Deriu museum in Tresnuraghes becomes a privileged place to educate in culture, which predisposes to the development of sensitivities and to the knowledge of one's identity and history.
