“There’s a rumor going around that I may or may not have lied about my age for That 70s Show. I’d like to make it very clear now: I did lie. Okay? I did,” the Bad Moms actress admitted in a bombshell interview with Vanity Fair, before going on to reveal that the casting team had no idea about her real age until she subtly asked for a ‘studio teacher’ in her contract. Yikes!
“However, by the time I went to what was then, like, producers, network call, you have to sign a contract before you get the job. And in my contract I had to put an asterisk, and be like, ‘Studio teacher.’ And they’re like, ‘What do you mean?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, P.S. I’m 14.'”

However, Mila went on to say that it wasn’t the end of the world, but her casting was a little unconventional at the time, “as it was in the heyday of like, older kids playing younger kids, and I was actually of the age of the character.” By contrast, Wilmer Valderrama and Laura Prepon were 18, Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace were 20, and Danny Masterson was 22 years old at the start of the show.

The rumor actually started an entire decade ago, as Mila herself spoke about her age on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2012. "Legally, I was 14," she confessed in relation to her first audition for the show, revealing the technicalities she used to deceive the casting directors.
"I told them I was gonna be 18, which… is not technically a lie, cause at one point, given all things went right, I was gonna be 18. But at that point, if you talked to [series creators] Bonnie and Terry Turner, they were so sweet, they were like, 'Well, we loved you at that point, so what did we care?'"
