LeBron James Wears Retro Nike Sneakers at Lakers Media Day
There are not many days on the sports calendar more enjoyable than NBA Media Day. Every team from around the league reports for duty like it's the first day of school. Players show up with fresh haircuts, clean new uniforms, and extra crispy sneakers to have their official pictures taken for the new season.
Like everything else in the league, much of the attention is focused on the Los Angeles Lakers each year. More specifically, their starting point forward who is entering his 21st NBA season. As expected, LeBron James did not disappoint with his choice of footwear for Lakers Media Day.
James often wears retro models from his signature sneaker line with Nike, and today was no different. Thanks to the Lakers' social media team, we can see the league's all-time leading scorer wore the Nike LeBron 10 Low PS Elite in the 'Championship Pack' colorway. Below is everything fans must know about the old-school hoop shoes.
The Nike LeBron 10 Low PS Elite 'Championship Pack' was released way back in 2012. To celebrate James’ back-to-back championships with the Miami Heat, Nike released the Championship Pack that consisted of the Nike LeBron X Elite with its low-top counterpart.
The low-top version sports a Miami-inspired upper featuring a series of bright birds, flowers, and palm trees. The glow-in-the-dark outsole provides the foundation of the shoe. Lastly, the sock-liner with “2-time Champion” and “11-12 12-13” put the finishing touches on the commemorative hoops shoe.
Unfortunately for Lakers fans, the Nike LeBron 10 is not available at its retail price anywhere online. However, they can shop the LeBron James collection on Nike's website, which includes several discounted sneakers and apparel items.
Could James be signaling his championship aspirations with his kicks? Of course, that's always his goal. However, we are hopeful he is teasing the first retro release of the Nike LeBron 10. During last year's Media Day, James wore the Nike LeBron 2 in the 'Maccabi' colorway, which he wore heavily throughout his historic season.
