You can take the boy out of Tree Hill, but you can't take Tree Hill out of the hearts of countless devoted fans, including a star of One Tree Hill himself. Chad Michael Murray demonstrated this over the weekend when he returned to Wilmington, North Carolina, to revisit and bask in the glory of some seminal One Tree Hill sets.

Chad, if you need a refresher, is perhaps best known to audiences for playing the moody, yet always lovable, Lucas Scott on the series for six seasons — and he was in Wilmington to attend the annual EyeCon3000, a festival for OTH fans. "I spent many days on this porch pondering life’s great enigmas," he wrote in one Instagram post, posing in front of his fictional TV house. "Once a Scott, always a Scott. Side note - Friends, PLEASE refrain from writing on this kind persons home. They are wonderful people & let’s show them the respect we have for OTH by always respecting the property." (Good advice indeed.)

We have a feeling you'll recognize the second landmark Chad visited. "I returned to the place it all started. Feels like yesterday... Ok, maybe not," he wrote alongside another photo. "It feels like 15 years ago I walked this bridge for the 1st time. 😏 I’m so humbled and grateful that so so so many of you went on the adventure along with us- and still do today. Much love to you friends!" It feels like just yesterday that a hoodie-clad Chad was solemnly dribbling his basketball on that very bridge.

Despite One Tree Hill (which recently became available in full on Hulu) being off the air for many years now, its cast has frequently delighted fans by staging impromptu reunions. Two years ago, in fact, most of the cast went to Eyecon for a formal reunion, while other times they can just be spotted in restaurants palling around.

To borrow a phrase: There is only one One Tree Hill, after all. Do you guys hear "I Don't Want To Be" playing?
