As if there weren’t already sufficient Jacko packages bombarding the album charts, here comes another three-CD set, assembling his complete solo output between 1971 and 1975 – or, what he did instead of having a normal adolescence. At this point, his pubescent squeakings were ordinarily pitted against gloopy orchestral pop. Although there are some gems, this collection makes you appreciate what a leap forward Jackson took with 1979’s Off the Wall.
