This is an exceedingly rare 1938 paperback edition from the Albatross Modern Continental Library, which operated out of Leipzig, Paris, and Bolgna between 1932 and 1939, and is credited with introducing modern mass market paperbacks. The Unvanquished being a somewhat forgotten addition to Faulkner's bibliography, this might be the first European edition offered for sale. Covers betray fading and nicks and other signs of wear and imperfection commensurate with age. Aesthetic fraying at the top of the spine, but the binding remains structurally sound.
