Moscato di Sorso-Sennori

A Guide to the Moscato di Sorso-Sennori Region

With northern Sardegna as its home, Moscato di Sorso-Sennori shows off the communes of Sorso and Sennori as a prime source for one of Sardegna’s most storied grapes. The wine may be still, sparkling, or fortified; in the case of the latter designation, it’s labeled liquoroso and must be at least 17.5% alcohol. There’s also a passito style, in which grapes are left to dry and concentrate in flavor before fermentation. Both liquoroso and passito wines have a five- to six-month minimum aging requirement. In all designations, Moscato di Sorso-Sennori shows off trademark honey, dried fruit, and almond notes, making it a wonderful pairing for Sardegna’s herbal, hard cheeses and nutty, savory desserts.
