The sheer fashion trend has taken various forms, from the transparent skirt to the translucent shoe. Yet, the ultimate embodiment of this daring trend remains the naked dress. Since captivating A-listers in 2022, the look has dominated on the red carpet – a guaranteed show-stopper. But the ubiquity of the naked dress has led some to ask: are we over it yet? Apparently not, if Sienna Miller and her fellow British It-girls are anything to go by.

At the star-studded birthday bash of London socialite Lady Lola Crichton-Stuart (aka Lola Bute), diaphanous dresses that left little to the imagination were all over the dancefloor. Guest Sienna, who gave birth to her second daughter four months ago, attended wearing a gorgeous floor-length Annie’s Ibiza gown in sheer white, featuring an exquisite pearlescent cobweb design and a sweeping train. Miller paired the angelic number with a nude bodysuit underneath, classic pumps and dazzling diamond bangles.

Another memorable sheer dress moment came courtesy of Camille Charrière, who also chose an Annie’s Ibiza creation (founder and designer Annie Doble was also a guest at the party). The influencer opted for a delicate peach slip dress, transparent yet adorned with intricate lace and micro embellishments that added a subtle sparkle. Charrière accessorised with a strapless bra and underwear set, along with chic sandals. If the crème de la crème of British It-girls still swear by sheer dressing, then we’re not ready to quit, either.
